It’s a red leather day. Finally finished ‘woman with fox’. I’ve been painting a few foxes lately, ever since I saw one in the neighbor’s yard. This painting is based on a true story, however any resemblance to persons and events …
I recently met Hazel (82 years old) who used to be quite well-known as the ‘fox lady’. Her pet fox traveled with her everywhere around the mountains in her car(oh dear, I can feel another picture coming). I can tell she’s still upset about the disappearance of Reddy some 30 years ago.
This is a my interpretation of what I think is a really cool story.
I don’t quite know what I expected a fox lady to be like. She didn’t seem that cunning (hahahaha) which is just as well because I have my own idea of what fox ladies look like.
Special thank you to M for bringing your contemporary aesthetic to my humble endeavor! Also to Kathy for lending me her feet.
If anyone is interested, I’ve re-made the wallpaper in Photoshop and printed sections which I used as stencils for the background.
